He will ask Saga, "Are you familiar with Tiamat? She was an old goddess of the sea I think, supposedly slain by Marduk. I seem to recall she was once a queen and was deposed or something like that?"
"Not a bad thought. I recall reading a Necronomicon a while back. she was mentioned in it." she grins, "I think I still have that book in a box in my room." he does like exciting and fun. lab time is not all that exciting usually. she thinks as she texts Enigma.

"If someone Media and video focused came with Saga and that would help for a second set of eyes. guessing between enigma and Gizmo should be fine "

"As for Bogovite, they sound like they need an update on what's going on here. someone doing that in person makes sense." Dawn states plainly. thinks.

Maia crouches down when she spots the pebbles and gives them a good, long sniff. She’ll even pick them up and turn them over in one massive hand to see if her connection with the earth will provide any insight. Fish smell starts abruptly, the crown is stolen, and then it vanishes. Teleportation in as well as out? But why walk at all? She squints balefully at the pebbles. And how would these get in anyway? Thinking for a minute, Maia closes her eyes and extends her awareness into the earth beneath the museum- just to rule out any subterranean tunnels or something to that effect. As this sort of painstaking investigative work does not come naturally to the gestalt (who is more of a smash-first, ask-questions-later kind of lady), Maia will grow easily frustrated that the clues don’t solve themselves and turn to the others (at least Shazbut, Barricade, and the Young Gods) for guidance on how to proceed. Upon being presented with the newspaper article Maia simply scowls at it (what with being unable to read and all), but picks up on the substance of the issue readily enough when the conversation shifts to apparitions and mysteriously appearing people. An appearance out of nowhere? Like the fish smell. Hrm. Upon being asked for a destination, she speaks up without hesitation and rumbles ”WE GO. CAFÉ. GHOSTS. OF LIFE. NOT. OF LIFE. CAN HELP. PUT. REST. IF NOT. CAN CRUSH. SQUEEZE. ANSWERS. OUT.” The fact that the polite one, He-Who-Mists, is going will further solidify Maia’s decision and she will fall in beside him when it is time to go.

’Gods’ staying where they belong. How unusual. Definitely not Olympian gods then.

They are also intelligent and knowledgeable about grammar. Maybe a writer? I swear to the gods if their hero name isn’t ‘Bookwyrm’ I am demanding a meeting with the Omega’s naming department…. Wait. You can hear the agony and fury in her broken words. I hope these new gods step up to turn humans from their self destructive tendencies, before Maia unleashes her wrath on the world. Then again maybe fearing the wrath of their planet may be the motivation they need to stop destroying it.

All this fervor of activity. I forgot about Telemachus. He will be very upset I have been gone for so long after not saying goodbye. I will beckon him when we have a moment of respite. He deserves a detailed explanation, and given the pace of this investigation I may not have time to give that if I summon him now.

The Forum, Javarta
Date: Friday May 1st, 2043

  • Outside: Crisp, chilly, light cloud cover (50 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Inside: Temperature Controlled (65 degrees Fahrenheit).
Time: 11:00-11:15 am

Sicilia goes about creating a dossier of the Young Gods, each of them allowing her to snap their picture for her document.

Saga responds to Sinner-G's question about Tiamat. "Yes, Tiamat is quite a powerful god indeed. I sense you are inquiring as to whether the scent that was discovered belongs to her. From my viewings of her, I don't believe she would fit in this room. Perhaps an avatar or disciple. It could also be Wadj-wer, Ceto, Yamata no Orochi, Amemasu, Phorcys, Kulullû... the list of angry sea gods is very long. But like I said, they tend to stick to their domain."

She asks Saga about the Mechanic's talents and receives the reply "Sounds like a question for him. I know he is a man of many talents. A list of them, I do not possess." Dawn Breaker decides the pebbles left behind are hard evidence and scoops them up to bring with her as well as the device attached to the camera. She decides to head with Saga and Co. back to the Omega HQ to do some crime analysis.

Maia uses her position as a spirit of the Earth to do some esoteric detective work. Reaching below the surface, she searches for any man-sized tunnels and confirms that they are not there. Besides a minute amount of algal growth, Maia doesn't sense anything unusual regarding the pebbles. Frustrated with the lack of action, she chooses to head to the cafe where she will solve the issue by force if needed, or maybe if not needed.

Guardian chats briefly with Sicilia and then after some thought, decides to head to the Mechanic's with some of the New Gods for solutions.

Barricade speaks up. "Sinner-G, you're with Guardian. Maia, try not to smash 'em too hard. I'm sure there's something big and bad for you to unleash on when this is all said and done. Saga, I'll be heading back to base with Shazbut and Dawn Breaker. We'll give you the tour and introduce you to our geeks."

Bogovite Cafe – 999 Maxwell Ave, Javarta, Midtown, Century Station:

Maia, Riiva, and Nuba Sando are all able to transport themselves to Bogovite Cafe via a flying cloud summoned by He-Who-Mists. With no other Omegas present, Maia finds that no one is trying to talk her ear off during the ride, allowing her to concentrate on her thoughts.

He-Who-Mists brings the cloud down in front of the Cafe and nods to everyone else, indicating that the ride is over. From the front, Maia can see a storefront full of tall, fixed windows through which, one can see a good sneak peak of the inside. There are many folks seated, drinking coffee, reading books.

Image

At least that's how it appears at first glance. Upon walking inside, Maia can sense more supernatural energy than just the gods that she arrived with. An exasperated barista looks up from the counter and says "Please tell me you just want a coffee."
Image

Omega HQ:

Barricade drives the group back to the Omega HQ, passing by the site of his previous street race. Much less excitement this time around. Pulling up to the Headquarters, Saga, Jel Sando, and Toyouke-Omikami all pile out of the vehicle. Saga says to Barricade, "Introduce us to your geeks."

Dawn Breaker possesses both the pebbles and the device from the camera.

Inside is the usual scene in the base, some cleaning crew efforts, a lazy sweep by security, but not much else.

Gizmo pops into the lounge to greet the team. "Hey, I hear we have some tech to dive into."

Auto-Maxx – 1738 Remy Street, Zericho, Brisby Flats, Century Station:

Li Heimao, HJ, and rongo the lesser all teleport with Guardian and Sinner-G into the godship, Lilliput and head out to their destination. They are quickly transported to a holding pattern above an auto mechanic shop. Teleporting to ground level, rongo the lesser warns the team "be a bit careful, yeah? the mechanic has an odd sense of humor, and reality, and boundaries, and is really quite powerful."

They are all able to walk into the mechanic shop through the open rolling doors, where they are greeted by the glare of a burly bearded man seated at a workbench.

On the ride over Maia enjoys the quiet, but not enough to ease her discomfort over flying on a cloud. This is not how these are supposed to work. The Life has little presence high up- Maia finds the lack, and the lack of a connection to the physical planet, disorienting and more than a little disquieting. She shifts uneasily throughout the ride, and some of her feelings of helplessness and even fear may slip through her empathic communication. But she otherwise tries to keep her disquiet to herself, beyond being the first one off when they arrive at the café. It is only then that she realizes she is the only Omega on the scene, and might have to engage with the humans in a direct but non-violent manner. Not exactly her strong suit.

Even so, Maia has been studying on how to get around in the humans’ world, and when they enter she clocks the barista’s attitude. She casts about with her eyes and her life sense but gets little, so she decides it’s time to take a different approach. She shifts her personal recognition aura to that of a best friend, and makes an attempt at a nonchalant lean and a casual conversation opener. The effect would be horrifying if it weren’t for the mind control. Leaning one elbow on the counter (and possibly smashing it), Maia leans forward and tries to gush. ”GURRRRL. GHOSTS. UP’S. WHAT. WITH. THAT.” If the Barista requires further prompting to show them where they were sighted, Maia will add ”SEE. CAN. WE?”

Sicilia gladly puts in the information and pictures of the Young Gods into her tablet, marking a note down to share the info with CHIMERA in case they need to work with the eclectic group of immortals in the future. Such a fascinating thing, these gods here for what seems a simple grand larceny, she thinks to herself on the trip back to Omega HQ, I hope that us mortals are still useful once this inevitably becomes a godly chase, should we be brought along for the ride.

At the HQ, as Barricade introduces the geeks to Saga, Sicilia raises her tail at Gizmo's approach. Hello, Gizmo! We've got a device needing an analysis and some hard evidence to look into - some pebbles found at the scene that seemed out of place. As she 'speaks,' she gently tugs the device in question from Dawn's pouch with her TK, should the super-soldier allow it, floating it along to the 'geek.' You mind sending me the data on that to my personal computer once you're done, by the way? Might be useful to look into if I have to dig through surveillance footage again at some point and we catch a similar thing going on.

She'll stick with Barricade and go through the notes she took at the museum, organizing them and her thoughts, and if she has time she'll begin drafting up a little article on the thievery, just to keep her journalistic skills in practice. If given orders by Barricade, she'll do her best to follow them, otherwise if left alone for long enough she'll go seek out Gizmo, see if he needs any help in his work on the device, at least anything that she can provide without getting in the way.

she gently tugs the device in question from Dawn's pouch with her TK, should the super-soldier allow it, floating it along to the 'geek.
Putting a hand over the device before it moves, she states plainly but politely and in friendly manner

"Whoever did that in the future, please ask and let me know you are doing that. before you do that. also do not do that with my arrows some of them are explosive and could do some serious injury to the quiver and myself should they make contact the wrong way." Dawn says politely. putting a hand over the device before it moves.

Are all the Omega's as rude? I do need to get a more secure Quiver it would seem. that said telekinetically placing an arrow could be a useful. and it was probably something they did. it is a practical thing to use powers like that. Not only was it rude, but if the device had been near or beside something that could have gone off it was a risk to those around her. Not only that it seem highly disrespectful, even if it was not intended to be.

After a brief thought she shrugs. It was also nothing to start a fight over and quite practical. The telekinesis did get her attention and momentarily make her lose focus. But the professional in her did set her right. That or the HMCS, either way it worked.

"The device according to Enigma looks to be a CFIR or Camera Feed interrupter/repeater. Shaz and the security staff at the museum seem to think its is short range. I agree. The device using a local system that was hacked or a mobile system brought on site would be ideal. It would make sense to use something they do not need to carry."

"We need to know what is on this one, where it was transmitting, What it was transmitting and if the thief is using more like it how we can track them. As for our guests." She walks up to gizmo pulling out the device and pebbles, Provided Enigma's is correct about the device.

"These are some of the new gods, Saga, Jel Sando and Toyouke-Omikami. They are assisting us in the matter." Dawn says indicating them as she says their names, "Pardon my butting in , Barricade. I don't mean to be rude. I am just enjoying myself a little too much. I will try not to do that in the future." Dawn says respectfully.

"As for the pebbles, Shaz spotted them and noticed they had an aquatic scent of to them. This might be a long shot but if we can learn where the stones are from or what they are composed of it may help ID our thief and trace where they came from before breaking in." then she pauses "We should also ask the museum if they have an aquatic display. if the thief was able to convert to water it would be a good place to hide until the theft took place?"

"Speaking of the new gods we should have the one Saga called the 'mechanic' take a look at this device as well. We could certainly put them to good use if we had a few so maybe asking the Mechanic to replicate it for us might be a good idea. The involvement of gods means this might be the work of someone the Mechanic knows better than us." finishes looking to Shaz and the snake, "Did I miss anything?" she asks.

The moment Dawn's hand moves to block the movement from the TK, it stops. Sicilia looks up from her notes at her companion, her emotions hard to read given her lack of ability to form facial expressions. Her mental voice, however, is more telling. Oh, sorry! she 'says', her 'voice' privately heard only by Dawn as Sici focuses on her. Completely forgot to get permission. Oh, uh, I'm Sicilia, the giant winged snake. She raises her tail up in a bit of an embarrassed wave. Did she not know who I am? When I heard she was brought onto the Omegas I looked over and took notes on her profile. I suppose she didn't do the same for the other Omegas. Then again, I'm not sure the other Omegas take notes on each other at all.

Clarifying herself some more, Sicilia continues 'out loud,' Recently transferred from Bravo to Alpha. For this mission, at least. Don't know where I'll end up being afterwards. TK is always going, since I don't exactly have hands. Didn't think before reaching out for the device. Sorry again.

As she 'speaks', she notes down that Dawn keeps 'active explosives' on her and underlines it. Be more careful with your TK from now on, Sici, especially around her.

no worries, I do a similar trick and need to ask. though in a tactical situation we could place smoke grenades or direct arrows to specific targets for better effect. something we should work on later when we get time. Dawn thinks in response to the snake as she extends one her tendril like whips.

"Alpha seems like a good spot. No worries about the TK. No hands sounds like a pain. That TK thing just took me unaware is all. you need need help let me know and I can make some time. All that TK with a headache does not sound fun." Dawn offered. Dawn as usual reacted more direct. among mark 5 and 10 clones it was expected. They all had the HMCS which made them hyper focused. The Omega's were a more varied group with a large sample of social traits. It would be something she would need to take into account and for future encounters and expect different behaviors from them.

Guardian steps forward, “I am Guardian, protector of the Humans. This is Sinner-G, Senior member of the Omegas. We are here investigating a crime. We need your insight. I would sincerely appreciate your assistance and/or cooperation in answering Sinner-G’s questions.” he steps back and to the side for Sinner-G to take the lead.

He opens his senses to his surroundings and attempts to discern the Mechanic’s Nature.

Perception (59%): 1d100: [39] = 39
JIC (d20/d%): 1d20: [20] = 20 / 1d100: [27] = 27

Sinner-G is not the smartest of soldiers, he is normally the one following orders not the one giving them. It takes him a second to realize that, while he is technically one of the most junior of the Omegas, he actually is the Senior Omega on the site.

He turned to the Mechanic, "Greetings, I am called Sinner-G, of the Omega Squad, Alpha team. We have been asked to investigate a theft, an item of power was stolen from the museum...despite advanced warning from the Young Gods."

That was all honest and accurate, now what?

Gideon had to think a bit, "The item was apparently stolen by someone who altered the inputs to the camera and then teleported away with the item. The alteration was done by a very small device that emitted a high-frequency sound that I was able to detect. The Young Gods seem to think you might also become a target of the thief." Invoking self interest might help us get cooperation.

Gideon pondered some more and then added, "You might be interested in the fact that I have been mechanically altered. My powers derive from changes generated by microscopic nanomachines in my body." It has been his experience that scientists and technical types can become far more interested if their specialty is involved in some way.
