Tales of Kabuki

This are where legends are born, but when a legend is born a hero usually has to die.

Tales of Kabuki

Post by Underguard »

Kabuki Stacks
Watson, Kabuki Stacks.png
Once upon a time Kabuki touted an impressive cluster of corporate medical office buildings. Located right next to the famous Med Center, Kabuki prided itself for a reputation on being a tidy, elegant district - that is, until Arasaka swallowed up every last competitor. Ever since then, Kabuki - not counting Pacifica - is known as the poorest district of Night City. But Kabuki is far from empty - an influx of Chinese immigrants have turned Kabuki's winding streets into a lively bazaar where one can find almost anything for a fraction of the market rate. At night, the Chinese lanterns and flickering neons light up the stalls of Night City's biggest black market for implants, organs, drugs, stolen prototypes, steroids, viruses and malware, XBDs - you name it, Kabuki will have it. The district is heavily crowded, save for its northern stretches where abandoned warehouses and disused factories have become occupied by gangers and outcasts of all stripes and colors. Kabuki is largely controlled by the Tyger Claws - occasionally you might also spot Maelstrom. Some local gangs thrive such as the Mox, who run the most popular braindance club in the city - Lizzie's Bar

This will serve as our 'Homebase' and 'Shopping' threads unless you travel to another location within Night City. Downtime between gigs/contracts/jobs will be here until everyone can afford to move out. There can be combat in this thread with other residents if provoked.

A Tuesday for Theo

Theo is tinkering with a small toy one of the Stacks kids asked him to fix. A naïve and innocent kid named Morgan who managed to scrounge up five eddies to ask you to fix the toy. With nothing else to do until he hears back from a Fixer, Theo agrees if for nothing else than to kill time. Theo is working on the toy for awhile, he discovers it's construction is annoyingly restricting. Like it's designed by the company that common folk would never be able to repair it, another scam no doubt. Inside, Theo can see a shorted circuit that's an easy fix for the skilled tech. One might even call it childs play. Before Theo can take out the bad circuit, he hears a commotion outside and further down his shack. Peaking through the window he saw them.

A group of three Tyger Claws moving through his level of the stacks, harassing people as they walk by. Theo knows the Tygers do this often, this is their turf. Since living in the Stacks, Theo has almost grown accustomed to their harassment. The few people who try to get smart with the Tygers when things like this happen often end up disappeared. They may as well be the law in the Stacks and surrounding side streets, NCPD giving parts of their territory a wide berth. Theo figures he has a couple minutes before the Tygers reach his Stack.

JIC: 1d10: [9] = 9 ; 1d10: [3] = 3

Ty smiles as he looks over the toy and the fact the boy scrounged together eddies to give him at all was a new one for Ty. He pops out the scanner in his arm to get the full breakdown of the issue with the toy. He shakes his head as he sees the issue and the intentional difficulty of repair. "Ya me imaginaba que harían algo así. Supongo que no debería sorprenderme demasiado. Cualquier cosa con tal de seguir haciendo un Eddy rápido."
"I knew they'd do something like this. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. Anything to keep making a fast Eddy.
Ty quietly talks to himself as he works.

Diagnostic work on the toy: 1d10+13: [1]+13 = 14 - 1d10: [3] = 3 = 11 + 2 from Tech Scanner = 13 Basic Tech

Just as he's getting to the delicate part Ty stops at the sound of the commotion. He chuckles and smiles to himself, "Parece que se aburren. Podría ser bueno. Mientras solo rompan cosas y no personas, puedo conseguir trabajo extra. Echo de menos cómo trabajaban los Valentino. ¿Quizás debería haber insistido en trabajar más tiempo con ellos? ¡Uf! ¿Qué digo? Prefiero mi libertad."
"Looks like they are bored. Might be good. As long as they only break things and not people I can get some extra work in. I do miss how the Valentinos worked. Maybe I should have pushed for more permanent work with them? Enh, What am I saying. I like my freedom more.
Ty goes back to fixing the toy. He knows if they want to bother him they will no matter what he's doing.

Fix the broken circuit: 1d10+13: [10]+13 = 23 + 1d10: [4] = 4 = 27 Basic tech

Ty carefully uses his tools to removes the board, before delicately removing the burned out circuit and soldering a new one in place. Ty replaces the board and gently reassembles the toy.

-Should the Tygers approach him and say anything Ty responds with, "Buenos días, amigos. ¿Puedo ayudarles en algo?"
"Good morning friends. Is there anything I can help you with?

Theo has a near miss while figuring out how to disassemble the toy, almost causing him to crack the casing however he saves the slip up and pops off the casing to prep fixing the toy. Theo elects to not give the Tygers any attention, recognizing how quickly their harassment can because deadly. Certainly not the same as the Valentinos. Still, trying to make it, like every soul in Night City. Theo is able to deftly remove the damaged piece before he hears the unrestrained knock from non-ganic hands as it is rapt against the door. Theo hears some words in another language from beyond the door, an arguement, possibly some passerby got their attention for a fleeting moment.

Whatever the cause, Theo will barely have time to set the toy down before the Tyger's open his door. There is a Tyger in a trenchcoat standing behind a much more lenky one that enters your room. Theo can see a third, far larger Tyger standing outside, liking mean mugging everyone that dares to lift an eye. The lenky one is someone Theo has met before, a masochistic freak who laughs just a little too much and is walking a fine line with his cyberware. Name of Kuroi. If there was one thing the Tygers had going for them, they were the most linguistically talented, even this lenky freak.

"Buenos días, joven Theo. Pagaste la renta a tiempo. ¿Qué hiciste para ganarte esos EDDs? ¿Tienes un trabajo pre-em pronto? ¿Quizás algo más? Somos amigos, ¿verdad?"
Good morning, young Theo. You paid your rent on time. What'd you do to earn those edds. Got a preem job coming up? Maybe something else? We're friends, right?
Kuroi says with an overly friendly bordering on uncomfortable smile.

Ty sets down his project as he knows the Tygers are going to enter his home.

Ty grins and shakes his head as the Tygers walk in to his home. "Kuroi, pensé que te dije que mi nombre es Ty. Egh, no importa."
"Kuroi, I thought I told you my name is Ty. Egh It does not matter."
Ty sighs a little as he listens to Kuroi, "Espero que mi pago puntual no te moleste demasiado. O sea, somos amigos, ¿verdad? Mira, ¿crees que tengo tiempo suficiente para un trabajo de verdad? Solo soy parte del ciclo aquí en las estanterías. Las cosas se rompen, y luego la gente paga para que las arreglen."
"I hope my on time payment doesn't get you too bothered. I mean we are friendly with each other aren't we. Look you think I have enough time for a real job? I'm just part of the cycle here in the stacks. Things break, then people pay to get them fixed."

Ty gives a little smirk, "¿A menos que me hayas pedido Preem algo? ¿Algo que necesiten arreglar? Ya sabes que puedo arreglarlo todo. Entonces... ¿Qué es lo que necesita arreglarse?"
Unless you've come to me with a Preem job? Something you guys need fixed? You already know I can fix anything. So...What is it that needs fixing?"
Ty looks over the Tygers in his home waiting for their response. He's not adverse to working for them as long as they are paying. "Sólo recuerda que no trabajo gratis
"Just remember I don't work for free.
Ty looks partaly interested if they really do have a job for him or if they are just here to try and waste his time with a poorly disguised shake down.

Human Perception: 1d10+7: [3]+7 = 10 (Assess the body language of the Tygers. Make sure things aren't going to go sideways.)

Kuroi grins wickedly at Ty, looking back at the man in the trench coat and laughing. "Hora, nanite itta kke? Kono-ko wa tetsu no tama no mochinushida." Kuroi says and the other one chuckles as Kuroi continues. "Wakarimashita. Kikai o kudasai." He adds as the man in a trench coat nods and pulls out some sort of computer. Kuroi turns back to Ty holding up the device, wrapping his other arm around Ty's shoulder. "Necesito que arregles esto antes del mediodía de hoy."
I need you to fix this before noon today.
Kuroi says, his earlier friendliness evaporating into a deadly serious tone as he gets closer to Ty. "Y no mires dentro. Solo arréglalo y desbloquéalo, y luego llámame. ¿Entendido?"
And don't look inside. Just fix it and unlock it, and then call me. Understood?
Kuroi says. Ty can tell that Kuroi is being intentionally intimidating to signify the gravity of the situation. Kuroi shakes Ty's shoulder once before answering for him with a twisted grin. "Por supuesto. Lo harás. Nos vemos pronto, chico."
Of course. You will. See you soon, kid.
Kuroi says, leaving the computer with him and moving back towards the door.

Tuesday Twists
Cossack

Cossack had just crossed the bridge in Night City connecting Watson to Westbrook. The Fixer had asked him to smuggle something into Night City for her that Dakato managed to procure. Cossack hadn't looked in the container yet, and it sat safely inside his armored vehicle. As Cossack clears the Bridge and comes to the light, he hears tires screech and sirens blare as a pair of NCPD vehicles race past chasing an unmarked car down the road. Just another day in Night City as the light turns green and Cossack starts driving towards the Kabuki district where the Fixer spends most of her time. Cossack knows she is expecting him within the hour.

Takeout Tuesday
Tobias

Fixer had sent Tobias a job, paid nearly half of his rent alone. One of the flop houses in Kabuki has a nest of Scavs that have been kidnapping people. Fixer doesn't know why but wants you to clean this little nest out before the body count starts getting high. Tally is four scavs in the flop house, unknown if they have vehicles nearby or not. Tobias went to the coordinates and up to level 3 of the building, skulking towards room 303. The door looks sealed, but Tobias is confident he could pry it open if he needed too though there might be another way in.

Tobias reaches room 303, his hand hovering near the sealed door. Should I just rip it open? he thinks, his enhanced strength practically itching for the task. But he holds back. Too noisy. This ain't a head-on charge into an enemy aerodyne. I need to scout the currents first, find the weak point in their hull. He decides he needs information before a direct fight.

He presses an ear to the cold metal, listening intently. Come on, chooms, play some loud music! The solo's hope is for the thumping bass of synth-pop, something to indicate the scavs are distracted and sloppy.

A brief, almost imperceptible frown crosses his face. Damn, wish I'd bothered with tech. Could just override this lock, easy. He's always regretted his lack of finesse with tech, the cyberdeck jockey’s ability to slip through firewalls and unlock doors with a thought. Tobias knew he was bright, but put his time into other fun pursuits; gambling, fast cars, guns and how to snap necks.

But Tobias has options. More than one way to skin a cat, he muses, or to board a heavy freighter, for that matter.

As silently as he can manage, he begins to move, his eyes scanning the corridor and the surrounding structure. He checks for windows, praying for a convenient fire escape. His gaze drifts towards the ceiling, searching for the grimy cover of a maintenance shaft, or perhaps a service hatch. Every movement is fluid, noiseless; Tobias is a master of quiet. He's good at being quiet.

Scavs probably got another quick way out if trouble comes, a window, hole in a wall, something. Some kind of quick route out and to cover or wheels if they got them. Be nice to find that way out and make it my way in.

Ty grins and chuckles at Kuroi's stipulations. ¿Por qué clase de idiota me toma? Los malditos Tigres siempre creen que tienen que ser demasiado agresivos para demostrar su estatus.
What kind of idiot does he take me for? Fucking Tygers always think they have to be overly aggressive to show their status.
Ty does not look uncomfortable as Kuroi attempts to stubbly intimidate him. Ty gives a smirk as he jokes with Kuroi, "Espero que te refieras a no revisar los archivos de tu computadora. Si no, será muy difícil solucionarlo.
"I hope you are talking about not looking at whatever files are on your computer. If not, then it will be very difficult to fix."

Ty returns the seriousness of Kuroi's tone to ensure Kuroi knows Ty is taking his request seriously, "Viniste a mí por una razón. Entiendo la importancia de la discreción. Si no la supiera, no estarías aquí."
"You came to me for a reason. I understand the importance of discretion. If I didn't, you wouldn't be here."

Ty looks at the clock and looks back at Kuroi, "Mmm... Tres horas. Debería ser posible... siempre y cuando no me encuentre con nada, inesperado."
"Hmm...Three hours. Should be possible...as long as I do not encounter anything, unexpected."
Ty nods to Kuroi acknowledging acceptance of the job.

Ty waits for them to leave before he gets to work. Debería tener tiempo para terminar el juguete del niño después de terminar con esto.

Theo gets right to work on the computer, knowing better than to push his luck with the Tygers. Theo immediately realizes the problem; it isn't that the computer is broken or doesn't have power. The hard drive is locked down and encrypted with a password that is currently eluding Theo. Theo studies the device and notices several key things on it; it is Militech branded. Not consumer branded either, this computer probably belonged to a VIP of some sort. How the Tygers got their paws on it is beyond Theo but the information that will be on this thing could be worth thousands. Though the thought is moot unless Theo can breach the powerful encryption.

Takeout Tuesday
Tobias

Tobias decides to quietly scout out the surrounding area before downright prying the door open. Past room 305 Tobias finds a maintenance hatch that leads to the balconies on the side of the flop house. The hatch isn't locked, just postered with a warning that the building is not liable for injury or loss of life of any who trespass. Unbothered by this warning, Tobias is able to open the hatch and quietly move across the balconies. The 303 balcony door is open with a single scav having a smoke, completely unaware of Tobias's presence on the divider between balconies just above the scav. Tobias can also hear some conversations that are muffled, away from the balcony. Tobias uses his strength and stamina to silently lower himself down the dividing wall next to the first Scav as he leans against the rail. A swift motion from Tobias and a quick crack sound as Tobias drops the Scav to the grown. Tobias is able to shove the body in the corner on the balcony and cover it so he can peer inside.

Inside, he spots two Scavs standing on either side of an operating table with someone strapped down to it. The person is gagged and struggling as the scavs are speaking another language Tobias doesn't recognize. Tobias hears the voice of a third scav from another room before one of the other two scavs leaves the room to go answer them.

Bitch ass pigs.

He hammers out the curse, almost without thinking. Watching as they vanish down the twisting streets. It felt like every time he had bizz he couldn't help but run into the motherfuckers. Driving through the urban decay of Night City, with all its neon lights, corporate control, and teeming masses, was bad enough. The open roads outside the city walls. That is where he belonged.
Cossack honked the horn as he came through the intersection. Its loud baritone adding to the noise of the streets. Hoping to scare off any gonks about to stray into his path. Not that he was worried about crushing some poor fucker. Far from it. Running down pedestrians just had a way of alerting the local wildlife in a way he wanted to avoid at the moment.
Static idiots. Can't drive and cant survive outside their fucking concrete prison. Pathetic.

Cossack looks to the broken cavalry saber on the dash and lets out a breath.
Soon.

While traffic is slow he shoots off a text on his disposable. He was getting close to the rendezvous and didn't want to waste chooh2 idling.
Do you have it in ya ta make it epic!?

He could have said that he wanted me to crack the computer's hard drive. Not like it would have changed my response. Really what kind of newb does he take me for?

Ty begins the process of working through the process of cracking the hard drive. Ty does understand the value of the item in his humble shop. He's also knows the Tygers likely wont pay him any where near what he deserves for this job. If Ty has the time once he has cracked the drive, he will rig a small electrical charge in order to wipe the drive should the Tygers attempt to cheat him out of his eddies.

Ty wipes the sweat from his brow as he looks over the work. "Todo listo. Buen trabajo, si me permiten decirlo."

Tobias Murphy sees the opening as one of the two Scavs leaves the room.

The hidden solo thinks, When the tide is going your way, don't wait. The other one who left will be back eventually. His muscles are tense, coiled and ready as he calculates the distance, the angle, the path. The muffled struggles from the victim seem to be a minor distraction for the Scav. Good. Keep your eyes on your victim choom.

He flows through the open balcony door, a ripple of controlled aggression.

Tobias closes the distance to his unsuspecting prey. His hands clench as his focus tightens on the victim. Another one? he thinks, his mind racing through the grim possibilities. Are they harvesting 'ware? Organs?

A grim line forms on Tobias's face. Theft, especially from those who deserve it, is one thing for a former pirate; it's a matter of survival, a way to carve out what's owed. But this... this goes far beyond settling scores. This crosses a big red line.

Contingency: If more gonks enter the room and Tobias is in the open he thinks fast. He doesn't wait for them to process what just happened. He raises his hands, a calculated grin spreading across his face. "Hold it, chooms!" he barks, his voice cutting through the tension. "The Tygers know you're earning Eddies in here. They want their cut. Now, we can do this messy, or we can talk terms." He watches their eyes, pretending to be an enforcer collecting his cut, but in reality looking to snap their necks.

If the Scavs say they're already paying Tygers their cut, Tobias growls and changes tack effortlessly, "I know that, but you're earning more than you said. Right? How much are you pulling here?!"

Should find out what other loot they got while I got them here. He looks about the room with a disdainful expression, "You got wheels? Can transport more victims with wheels ya know. Expand this little earner ya think?" I could use some wheels, go on, tell me where your wheels are.

After some trial and error, Theo is eventually able to crack the hard drive's root password and gain access to the files on the computer. The unmarked computer belonged to a Militech Special Agent Adrian Conrad and it contained detailed files on Arasaka, Biotechnica... and Militech. Observed delivery and patrol schedules around some key facilities. Names and personnel files on ranking personnel in Arasaka and Biotechnica. As well as some cursory information on several projects being worked on by both. Nothing concrete, but enough to make some educated guesses on with the right information.

Theo knew exactly what this was. Dangerous. A goldmine, and Theo knew just who to get in touch with. His local fixer, Ghostwire. Trustworthy, reliable and always looked out for her own, if anyone could get Theo a reward for this it'd be her. Though, the Tyger's are expecting it and Theo doesn't know how much they know, or if this Militech Agent will come looking for his life-threatening data breach.

Tobias approaches the Scav from behind, intent on snapping a neck, hears the crushing sound of glass as his foot breaks a piece of shattered glass from one of the many shattered beer bottles on the ground. Tobias hears the Scav grunt. "Huh?" He says, perplexed by the sudden sound as he looks up from the body and starts scanning the room, turning to look behind him.

His eyes land on Tobias and the Scav growls. "What the f-" but before he can finish his words, Tobias's powerful hand snaps down on the collarbone of the Scav. Tobias hears the audible crack of bone as the Scav's collarbone crumbles and his left arm goes limp. The Scav is momentarily stunned from the strike as Tobias adds insult to injury, his knuckles striking nicely into the temple, the Scav crumbling to the ground. Tobias can tell he is barley alive and likely to regain consciousness in a few seconds as he still fights for breaths.

Tuesday Twists
Cossack

Cossack continues on his route, cursing under his breath at whatever force in nature decided to give the right for half of these drivers to have cars. Many of them going far slower than the posted speed limits, though there are certainly a few speed demons out there that zip past Cossack as he drives. His route leads him down an underpass tube however something stops Cossack dead in his tracks.

About two hundred feet ahead of him, about halfway into the underpass tube, sat three cars. All of them uparmored with the white techno-skull branded painted on all of them. Maelstrom, the techno-freaks on the verge of psychosis. Cossack had seen them do this before, but never in Kabuki territory. They usually stuck to Northside, however they seem to be treading the normal gang lines. Whatever their reasons, none of it mattered. Cossack had spotted them and he was sure they spotted him. There is another civilian car to the right of Cossack who had turned down the same road, also frozen in fear and surprise.

Cossack's drop point is half a mile past them, there are other ways if Cossack can manage to evade the Maelstrom.

Tuesday Trouble
Hopalong

An immediate case had been pushed to several NCPD Detectives in the Watson District; a critical piece of evidence has vanished from one of the precincts and the primary suspect is an NCPD Beat Cop. A man named Steven Schillens who's been on the force a little more than a year. Hopalong can't recall ever personally talking to the uniform and can't put a face to the name. Fortunately, Hopalong had a reliable civilian informant in the region that was able to provide her with a much closer location.

Near the Kabuki Market are several small hotels, all of them charging cash and require no I.D. According to the information from the C.I., the beat cop had been seen somewhere in the area as recent as 9:00a in an area with two different hotels catty corner to each other. Other than the alleyway behind the hotels, a single street is the main access via two-way traffic coming to and from the Kabuki Market. Right now, Hopalong can be fairly confident that the suspect is within this block, for now.

Not a moment wasted, Tobias reaches down and with a swift, brutal motion, snaps the Scav's neck, ensuring he won't recover. He has an idea, and thinks, I got a use for you choom. With a single, cybernetically enhanced arm, he hefts the dead Scav's body, keeping his other hand free and ready for a fight. He spares a quick, grim glance at the victim on the surgical table. If they're conscious, he raises a finger to his lips, a silent command for quiet.

Without hesitation, Tobias then advances on the door where the remaining two Scavs are, holding the dead body before him like a grotesque, improvised shield, ready for whatever weapons they might wield.

What possesses a lawman to turn against the law he swore to uphold? Answer: Money. That is all Hopalong needs to know to understand what causes a cop to turn dirty. Maybe he was dirty before he took on the role as a Night City Police Officer. It is a complicated world of moral ambiguity that offers the kind of temptations for a police officer to be on the take. These days, it was a far more common problem after NCPD went private. At least that is her reasoning for why Officer Schmillen made off with the evidence for a critical case. Now that he had just left the person he was working for.
Then, a C.I. contacted Hopalong about his current whereabouts, and now she was sitting on a curb watching the two dingy hotels facing each other. Competing houses of ill-repute where deals like Schmillen were pulled went down. Only he would not enjoy his ill-gotten gains, benefiting from the other officers' work to get this crucial evidence.

It was 9 a.m., and time was not on her side. The best way to find an officer would be to do some footwork. She primes her vehicle's agent to watch for the perp and ping her agent while she’s checking. She quickly scans the back alley, looking to see if his vehicle is hidden back there. It might not indicate his hotel, but it might give her more to work with. She’ll go into the hotel on the right if nothing comes up about the ride.

“Hi,” Hopalong begins, walking up to the front desk, using her best Texan airhead cowgirl voice, “I’m looking for my no-good output. I know, I know, you can’t say anything, but I can really make it worth your time…” Leaning slightly over the counter to show off her cleavage. She also produces a printed picture of Schmillen for the front desk worker to view.

Ty snaps his fingers as he cracks the password, "Muy fácil."
"A cinch."
He states to the empty room. He face falls slightly as there is no one to share in his accomplishment. However he freezes as the contents of the drive seem to begin displaying themselves for Ty. "Mierda." Ty looks over the computer frantically as the information it contains is more then he knows what to do with. Ty gets up and paces while talking lowly to himself, "¡Malditas zorras! ¿Qué me han traído? Bueno, tranquilos. Piensen. Esto podría ser una oportunidad. Es información muy valiosa... pero también muy peligrosa. Si Militech descubre que tuve algo que ver, estaré tirado en una zanja al final del día."
"Fucking Bitches! What did they bring to me? Ok Calm down. Think. This could be an opportunity. This is very valuable information...but also very dangerous. If Militech found out I had anything to do with it, I'll be laying in a ditch by the end of the day."
Ty looks at the computer and his assorted other devices strewn about.

Ty stops and looks at the time and smiles. "Solo 30 minutos. Maldita sea, estoy bien.
"Only 30 minutes. Damn I'm good."

Ty sets about copying the drive to a independent memory stick. While that process is running he will dial up his only friend...if she can be called that. Ty takes a couple of breaths as he waits for the call to connect. Sé que ella podrá ayudar."
I know she'll be able to help.

Once the call connects. Ty will put his best foot forward, "Ghostwire. Tengo algo que necesito hablar contigo. Unos Tigres me dieron un objeto interesante... Algo que no deberían haber tenido. Necesito ayuda para moverlo con un buen tope para que los Tigres no me dejen en el muelle más cercano. ¿Puedes reunirte conmigo en los próximos 20 minutos?"
"Ghostwire. I have something I need to discuss with you. I had an interesting item drop in my lap from some Tigers...Something they shouldn't have. Need some help moving it with a good backstop so the Tygers don't drop me off the nearest peir. Can you meet me in the next 20 minutes?"
While he does try and sound confident in his words a slight shake to his voice hints to his nervousness about the situation.

The victim on the table is long dead to Tobias' eyes, one of many that have fallen under their hands. Just two more left in this nest, and Tobias was sure they'd heard something by now. Sure enough, as he moves towards the door, he hears the shuffle of feet closer. As he breaks the threshold, he hears several gunshots and feels the impact ripple through the body of the dead scav in his hands. The closest Scav moving in for a strike as Tobias uses the dead Scav to overpower the closer scav, getting a solid upper rib shot on the Scav. Unfortunately the Scav is able to turn Tobias' next strike as the second Scav comes barreling in. Tobias feels the mind-splitting impact of a fist impacting his ribs through his jacket. [SP Ablates 1 to 10. -13 H.P.]

The next few seconds are a blur as Tobias collapses the airway of the first Scav, heaving the dead body onto the unconscious one as he squares up with the last Scav. "Okh, eta malen'kaya suchka lyubit podkradyvat'sya.
"
The scav spits at you as he draws a knife. Unfortunately the Scav was ill-prepared for a brutally precise strike that sends him staggering backwards, dropping the knife on the ground. Tobias stands with a headache but ready to end the fight as his eyes scan for the pistol that was just used. It was half-way between them on the floor from when the Scav charged.

The moment Cossack peels away, two Maelstrom cars case after it while the other car seems to barrel forward and is gone from sight. What Cossack sees on his rear now are a pair of Maelstrom cars as they peel out from the underpass behind you. Why you, Cossack might wonder. Unfortunately the Maelstrom aren't there to chat as Cossack quickly sees the two cars start trying to box him in and force him to take certain routes. Possibly into an ambush.

Cossack trusts his driving, the only disadvantage being his unfamiliarity with the streets of Night City. As his agent attempts to recalculate, his speed is making the Agent have a hard time finding the best route. As Cossack drive, the route changes and continues to display what is the current, fastest route to the address across the street from his drop point. Now he just needs to skirt the Maelstrom goons without damaging the goods. Please provide three driving rolls and anything else you might want to try.

The clerk looks up from his notepad with mildly interested look that is fleeting at best as he rolls his eyes. "50 eds. And no blood on the furniture." The Clerk says with a shrug. When Hopalong agrees the clerk pulls up the registry. "This output of yours got a name?" He asks and will search for Steven Schillens when told the name. "No one by that name, but got a room registered to S S, booked this morning. Room 303." The Clerk says and will unlock the door for Hopalong to go through. The Detective could see a look of apathy in the clerk's eyes, another soul Night City trampled over. Focused more on a quick eddie than anything else.

Hopalong starts heading up the stairs to the third floor before slowing her pace considerably as she sees the neon numbers 303 illuminated on a door. The red digital letters "Occupied. Do Not Disturb" flashing on the door. To the right of the stairs, past the out of order elevator is a small lounge type area with a balcony for smoking.

Now that it's just the two of them, Tobias lets his voice cut through the tension, a low growl. His hand unconsciously checks his jacket, smoothing a ripple in the fabric. He touched my jacket? Did he wash his hands?

"This is my favorite jacket," he states, the words flat, unfriendly. "Did you wash those hands?"

Then, he charges, a pure, unadulterated fury driving him. He's not reaching for the pistol; he's going in bare-handed, intent on breaking the Scav, bone by bone. Snapping, not tearing and spraying. Haven't got the Eddies for dry cleaning.

In between the brutal punches, Tobias hisses, "Nobody! Touches! My! Jacket!".

Hopalong quickly seals the deal with a flick, depositing the eddies to the clerk. She’s going to feel that later, but this case needed to be resolved pronto. Going upstairs, she bypasses the occupied room for a quick check of the lounge. If its occupied she play it nonchalant and leave going back to the occupied room. Chances were he was alone, but probably armed. He was walking around with a hot piece of evidence that could worth a lot to the right person. Hopefully, Hopalong was in time to prevent the transaction or maybe she would be sending two perps to lock-up.
So what would be the bet action. Schillans was expecting someone, so what not meet his expectations. She pulls off her hat and runs a hand through her hair, doing her best to fluff it up to look important. Playing on the fact they never met could work in her favor. Having worked with Ghostwire, most deals like this were rarely face to face and worked through proxies. Today, she was going to be that proxie. If that dosen’t work, then she will just kick the door in.
She raps the door with an air of importance and waits for Schillans to make a move. Just to be safe, she dropped a hand on top of the butt of her heavy revolver.
“Tic-toc,” Hopalong muttered under breath. “Tic-toc…”

"I know. I know. Look I thought they just wanted me to fix a broken computer. Noon. They'll be back by then if not a little earlier."
Ty's voice creeps up as he struggles to keep his worry in check. After a few breaths Ty gets himself calmed down a bit, "Recuerdo a Tauro. Gracias, Ghostwire."
"I remember Taurus. Thanks Ghostwire.
Ty hangs up and continues with copying the drive as he waits for Taurus.
Necesito calmarme. Tengo que seguir pensando en esto lógicamente... ¿Qué diablos estoy haciendo?
I need to calm down. have to keep thinking on this logically...What the hell am I doing?

Ty returns the fist bump a big grin on his face. Ty relaxes a bit with Taurus there, but there is also a little something else. Ty looks up to Taurus and tries a little harder to make things seem more controlled then they might actually be, "Podría haber problemas más adelante. Aun así, me alegra verte de nuevo, Tauro."
"Might be trouble later. Still good to see you again, Taurus."

Ty sits down at his work bench and shows Taurus the computer, "Los Tigres trajeron esto hace un rato. Me dijeron que lo arreglara. Pensé que estaba roto, pero no tenía ningún problema... salvo que el disco duro estaba cifrado. No es la primera vez que alguien me trae algo que se robaron. Pero este era de Militech. Y la información que contiene... me preocupa. No quiero que vengan a buscarlo y sé que si los Tigres consiguen la información y los atrapan, me acusarán de ser quien se la dio para salvar su pellejo. Pero tampoco quiero tener muchos problemas con los Tigres, ya que controlan esta zona."
"The Tygers brought this in earlier. Told me to fix it. Thought it was broken, but there was nothing wrong with it...other then the drive was encrypted. Not the first time someone has brought me something they klept. But this one was from Militech. And the info on it...it has me conserned. I don't want them comming to look for it and I know if the Tygers get the info and get caught they'll peg me as the one who got them the info to save their own skins. But I also don't want too much trouble with theTygers as they control this area.
Ty gives a bit of a sheepish grin as he turns to Taurus, "No es que no pueda manejar algunos tigres."
"Not that I can't handle a few Tygers"
Ty gives a little wink.

"¿Alguna vez has visto algo así? Es la primera vez que tengo este tipo de datos en mis manos."
"Have you ever seen anything like this? It's a first for me with this kind of data in my hands."

Taurus listens to Ty's explanation with a stoic face, however Ty can see slight twitches of muscles around his lips, nose or eyes at certain mentions. The bodyguard crossing his arms and shaking his head. "Un par de reparadores en la ciudad han estado siguiendo un conflicto creciente entre los cuerpos. Probablemente relacionado con eso."
Couple of Fixers in town been tracking a growing conflict between the corps. Probably linked to that.
Taurus considers with closed eyes before opening and looking to Ty. "Dijiste que estaba encriptado. Así que no saben qué contenía. Copia los datos y luego bórralos todos."
You said it was encrypted. So they don't know what was in it. Copy the data and then erase it all.
Taurus suggests with a nod.

"Le llevaré los datos a Ghost. Dile a los Tigres que no hubo nada. Quizás podamos usarlos. Puedo quedarme hasta que los Tigres regresen para asegurarme de que no te causen problemas."
I'll take the data to Ghost. Tell the Tigers there was nothing. Maybe we can use it. I can stay until the Tigers return to make sure they don't cause you any trouble.
Taurus says, standing and looking to Ty to see if the young tech agrees.

This random question prompts a confused look from the scav who answers in another language. "O chem, chert voz'mi, ty govorish'?" The scav practically spits back but Tobias charges. Tobias comes down hard on the Scav as his first his impacts squarely on the Scav's temple, sending him crashing to the ground as Tobias follows up and adds insult to injury.

The scav seems to be rolling in pain on the ground, semi-conscious, though no longer putting up an immediate fight. Tobias looks around the room and in addition to the gun on the floor sees the following. There is a bathroom door that is sealed behind the semi-conscious scav, a computer to the right that has a small safe next to it.

Tuesday Twists
Cossack

Cossack displays an exceptional driving ability that catches the Maelstrom gangoons offguard as you quickly lose them in your rear view mirror. Unfortunately, this is short lived as Cossack narrowly avoids a Maelstrom vehicle as they attempt to t-bone Cossack's car to stop it. Maelstrom didn't need much of a reason to mess with anyone, but right now, Cossack could figure they assume he's smuggling some high value goods. Nomad and NCPD vics were the two most targeted by Maelstrom, an unfortunately common ground with the NCPD.

Flipping the GPS off, Cossack relies on his ability to drive to escape and evade the Maelstrom goons. If there was one thing Cossack could be thankful for is that unlike Wraiths and Nomads, most Maelstrom cars didn't have onboard turrets or weapons. Really, most of their cars are repainted and repurposed cars stolen from civilians the NCPD hasn't dared tried to collect. Cossack peels away again as he makes a sharp turn down a side road then another road. The Maelstrom gangoons all but gone from rear view, if Cossack's luck holds, he's certain he can get away damage free. [Give me another three roles. As long as two rolls are above 20, you evade the Maelstrom cars for now]

Tobias's eyes snap to the pistol on the floor. He moves with a predator's grace, scooping it up as his primary objective. The metallic weight feels good in his hand. With the firearm secured, he turns his attention back to the semi-conscious scav, lying in a heap on the floor. A swift, decisive action should finish the job.

With the immediate threat neutralised, Tobias begins his meticulous search. He scans the room, drawn to the computer and the small safe beside it. His priority shifts to uncovering the network behind this abhorrent cyber-harvesting operation. He'll attempt to access the computer, hoping to find comms logs, data chips, anything that reveals who these scavs were talking to. If the computer is locked down or too complex to bypass quickly, he won't hesitate to disconnect and take it with him.

Next, Tobias will systematically comb through the apartment. Every fallen scav will be searched for weapons, valuables, eddies, or anything of use or value.

He's especially keen to find car keys, a data chip, or anything that might provide transportation or further leads.

Hopalong takes her hand off the pistol to place fingers on his chest to guide him back into the room. She lets him know that she had her hand on the gun to show that this was a serious situation. She gives the room a glance, checking to see if anything is out of the ordinary for a place like this, especially for a clandestine meeting. She reaches back to hit the button to close the door. That way, it would be harder for someone to walk behind her and take Hopalong by surprise.

“Names Hopalong. Why am I here? You.” When the door closes, she reveals the detective badge clipped to the inside of her duster. “We’ve been looking for you, Schillens. You seem to have made off with an important piece of evidence.”

Having studied the look on his face, she’s not so sure about the real reasons he took the evidence. Rarely does someone look like that unless they are genuinely terrified. Something or someone put the fear of God into him. So instead of coming down on him like a ton of bricks in an earthquake, she softens her voice.

“Tell me what's going on? Be honest, I can help you as long as you’re honest with me.” But to be sure, she watches him, looking for the tell-tale tics of a man ready to lie to her to get out of the boondoggle he finds himself in.

Inwardly, brushing aside the fact that Taurus could easily bend him into a very apologetic pretzel should he attempt such a gesture.
With Maelstrom not far behind him, Cossack knew he'd have to pull a stunt to lose them. Looking at the lane beyond the divider he starts tapping his foot in tempo with the loud music, waiting for an opening to emerge for him to squeeze through.

Ty looks down at the ground for a moment, "¿Otra guerra? ¿Por qué no nos sacaron suficiente provecho con la anterior?"
"Another war? What they didn't get enough out of us with the last one?"
Ty chuckles a bit. "Supongo que solo somos carne para su picadora, ¿no?"
"I guess we're just meat for their grinder aren't we?"

Ty smartly twirls a memory stick through his fingers as he wears a shit eating grin, "Ya lo copié. Lo hice mientras te esperaba. No quería estar desprevenido. Aun así, pensé que los datos valían algo, aunque los Tigres también los consiguieran.
"Already copied. Did that while I waited for you. Didn't want to be unprepared. Still figured the data was worth something even if the Tygers got it too.
Ty hands the stick to Taurus before moving back to the computer. Ty confirms the system logs will be deleted with the drive. If not Ty will make sure the logs are wiped as well as the drive. As few key strokes later and he initiates a wipe of the drive. Ty talks out loud as he works, "Esto del hacking es complicado. Es mucho más fácil simplemente arreglar las cosas. Uno pensaría que habrían ido a un fugitivo cuando se les ocurrió algo así.
"Man, this hacking stuff is complicated. Much easier to just fix things. You'd think they would have gone to a runner when they klept stuff like this.

Ty tries to look confident, but Taurus can tell he's trying a little too hard. His voice quivers ever so slightly as the young man can't hide his nervousness in dealing with the Tygers himself, "Digo, puedes quedarte si quieres. Cuantos más, mejor, ¿no?"
"I mean, you can stay if you want to. The more the merrier right?

Ty pulls out his phone to call Kuroi. As he dials the number Taurus can see Ty bounce on his feet a bit as he psycs himself up for the conversation with the Tyger over the phone. Puedes hacer esto. Confianza. Demuestra confianza en tus habilidades y que llegaron al lugar equivocado. No, no, no. Solo necesitas decirles que terminaste ahora mismo. Eso viene después.

Taurus shrugs at Ty's objections to yet another potential Corporate War. "Las guerras generan dinero. El dinero es lo único que le importa al Cuerpo."
Wars make money. Money is all the Corps cares about.
Taurus answers simply as if agreeing while in thought as Ty works. Taurus smirks when Ty produces the Datastick and nods. "Pensamiento inteligente, niño."
Clever thinking, kid.
Taurus says as he takes the stick and chuckles at Ty's complaints.

"Buen punto, y tienen corredores de la red. Apuesto a que este pequeño grupo de Tigres quiere usarlo como palanca."
Good point, and they got net runners. I'm betting this small group of Tigers wants to use it as leverage.
Taurus says with a smirk. "Me mantendré fuera de la vista y entraré tras ellos. Tranquilo, chico.."
I'll stay out of sight and walk in after them. Stay calm, kid.
Taurus says and then makes for the door. Moments after he leaves the door, Ty gets a call from Taurus establishing a link.

Está bien, te pillé, chico. Mantente firme.
All right, gotcha, kid. Stand your ground.
Taurus confirms over the call as Ty is forced to wait.

However, less than thirty minutes later two lone Tyger Claws approach Ty's domicile, both of them wearing darker suits and seem more than the cut of the mill Tyger. "Confianza" Taurus whispers over the connected line. One Tyger looks to you and then addresses Ty in spanish. "¿Kouri vino hoy a tu taller por alguna razón? Dime por qué."
Did Kouri come to your workshop for some reason today? Tell me why.
He states simply, without room for niceties.

Tobias

Tobias finds a medium pistol and scoops it up before finishing off each of the Scavs. Even cockroaches can't come back from that, though it may only be a drop in the mud, a dead scav is a good scav. He then moves towards the computer and safe, opening the computer with a simple click. The scavs weren't particularly known for their intelligence which is demonstrated by the email chain Tobias can see.

This scav nest is one of many spread across the city, though there are no coordinates or locations, there seems to be no centralized leadership. One nest or haunt of scavs will trade resources with another in an almost colony style way, coming to each others aide when needed but staying out of each others territory otherwise. Something does seem to catch Tobias' attention. It seems this particular nest was contracted to illegally steal some Cyberware for a local ripper doc.

He can scour the two rooms and finds nothing of apparent value, except that the safe is locked and the bathroom door seems to be sealed shut. Athletics Check to pry it open. He also manages to find a shotgun leaning against the wall that the Scav never got the chance to grab. Tobias finds a measly 10 eddies between all the Scavs pockets, and a bunch of rusted and hazardous knives and other types of surgical tools that should never be used on a living thing.

Tuesday Twists
Cossack

Cossack almost has cause to feel bad for the Maelstrom gangoons. Obviously more accustomed to cornering scared civilians or taking down cops than catching a Nomad driver. Cossack soon begins to make his way towards the rendezvous point from a different direction with traffic and less worries. Still technically in Northside and Maelstrom territory, he was just one random car who got away. Hardly worth the effort, or so Cossack could only hope. The whole process made Cossack question the value of the package considering its size. The large metal suitcase was secured, for now.

Cossack then rounds the corner towards the Drop Point and pulls into a storage facility on the boarder of Kabuki and Northside districts. The coordinates lead him to a storage unit he begins driving up too and as he does, he sees the unit door open. Inside stands Ghostwire and another woman Cossack doesn't recognize as they both usher him inside. "Cossack, good timing. Run into any trouble? How's the package?" Ghostwire says as Cossack pulls the vehicle inside and the other woman silently closes the door to avoid attracting attention.

Tuesday Trouble
Hopalong

Schillens doesn't stop Hopalong from entering and instead throws his hands up in dismay. "Evidence? You're damn right I made off with some evidence. Evidence I found. Evidence specifically requested by the Commissioner that needs to be found. Evidence he doesn't want anyone to see, can't be seen by the Media. I'll disappear if you arrest me, end up at the bottom of the bay. You want the evidence? Go. Go ahead. Take it. Read it, if you dare. But let me go." Schillens says in a agitated voice as he points, but not towards Hopalong. Hopalong's sharp eyes spot the evidence clear as day in the kitchen area of the room. Hopalong also sees an assault rifle leaning against the wall near the couch, right behind Schillens and away from the evidence, though he doesn't appear to be hostile or making a move towards it.

Schillens will stand and wait should Hopalong decide to inspect the datapad. As Hopalong is about to turn on the Datapad, she hears Schillen's voice. "If you take that, you might even meet the comissioner... just don't read it. If you read it, well, you'll end up like me." Schillens warns in a more sullen tone, and if Hopalong looks he hasn't moved, his eyes randomly dart from window to doorway throughout the conversation. Hopalong knows her orders are to arrest and detain Schillens by force if necessary, and return the evidence back to NCPD Headquarters in Watson District. Though, in her gut, she knows something is stinks about the order and the situation.

Nym

Nym jacks in and their eyes dim as the light changes while the world seems to slow around them. Nym feels a cold shiver as the real world melts away and is replaced a digitized one, almost alien were it not so familiar to Nym. The architexture of cyberspace was truly breathtaking from the Netrunner's point of view. Now Nym finds themselves standing next to a blue wall of data, Nym still in the Black Void before breaching the subnet. It almost looked like a digitized cathedral or walled city, with translucent shapes making it impossible to see through.

Nym activates the Pathfinder ability and maps out the Subnet. Nym sees the First Floor is a password gate followed by the Control Node on the Second Floor. Nym can map the ICE to exist on Floor Three, protecting the data that 8ug8ear needs on Floor Four. The ICE won't trigger until Nym is inside the Control Node or forcibly breaching the Password Gate, and is labeled as WARDEN. Nym quickly masks themselves with an augmented cloak, using the ERASER ability to mask their activity in the subnet.

Tobias snatches the medium pistol from the floor, his fingers deftly checking the magazine. Loaded? Good. He flicks the safety on with a practiced thumb, then tucks the weapon securely inside his leather jacket. He then turns his attention to the shotgun leaning against the wall. He grabs it, testing its balance, and keeps it firmly in hand.

He moves to the computer, quickly noting the ripperdoc's name and any other identifying information before closing the screen. This could be a lead for who's supplying the eddies for this sick little operation.

Next, the safe. He tests the door. If it's locked, he sizes it up— if it's small, perhaps no more than a foot or so on each side, he consider it certainly carryable. If I can't crack it here, I'll haul it out along with the computer.

He next moves to the bathroom door. Sealed? Could it be booby-trapped? he muses. He dismisses the thought; these scavs don't seem like masterminds. He plants his feet, muscles coiling, and with a grunt of his enhanced strength, he forces the bathroom door open.

With the bathroom cleared, Tobias returns to the small safe, and frowns with disapproval. Don't wanna leave here without this checked out. He grips the safe door, his enhanced fingers testing its resistance, feeling for what he hopes is the weakest point in its cheap construction. Come on, you bugger! he mentally snarls, his cybernetic strength surging through his arms, ready to rip the metal apart. I really don't wanna carry your arse all the way back home. He applies pressure, letting the muscles in his forearms bulge under his jacket, hoping to hear the low groan of tortured metal, any kind of promising sign that this isn't some high-security vault. He intends to unleash a final, explosive surge of cyber-strength, aiming to tear the safe's door and its locking mechanism free from the frame, and reveal whatever contents lie within.

What are your intentions?

Ty thinks on Taurus' words as the man departs the store and set up the link. No se equivoca. La guerra ofrece buenas oportunidades para obtener ganancias económicas. Aunque quienes ganan no suelen estar a nuestro nivel. ¿De qué me quejo? Esta es una oportunidad para mí y no la voy a desperdiciar.
He's not wrong. War does provide good opportunities for monetary gains. Although the poeple gaining are not usually at our level. Egh what am I complaining about? This is an opportunity for me and i'm not going to waste it.

Ty nods to himself as he makes up his mind to continue to chase the opportunities as they arise. "Gracias." Ty replies as he attempts to look as normal as possible while we waits for the Tygers.

As he waits Ty busies himself with finishing his work on the child's toy. "No debería llevar más que unos pocos minutos terminar esto."
Shouldn't take but a few minutes to finish this up.

Basic Tech: 1d10+19: [3]+19 = 22 (Finish fixing the child's toy)

Ty will pause his work at the arrival of the new Tygers. Ty nods to them, "Sí. Estuvo aquí hace un rato. Dejó una computadora que quería reparar."
"Yes. He was in here a little earlier. Left a computer he wanted fixed."
It suddenly dawns on Ty the reason Kouri came to him rather then any of the runners the Tygers employed. Intentaba tomar ventaja sobre alguien. Probablemente a espaldas de alguien superior a él o de un rival.
He was trying to get a leg up on someone. Likely behind the back of someone above him or a rival.

Ty motions to the computer sitting on the workbench. "No sé por qué lo trajo. No tenía nada malo.
I don't know why he brought it in. There was nothing wrong with it.
Ty slides off his chair and picks up the computer to hand it to the two Tygers. "Le dije que arreglarlo costaría 400 remolinos. Puedo reducirlo a 200 porque no tenía ningún problema. Pero me distrajo de otros proyectos que sí daban dinero.
Told him it would be 400 eddies to fix it. I can knock it down to 200 because there wasn't anything wrong with it. But it took me away from other projects that paid.

Something about this situation stinks, and Hopalong gets the feeling that the NCPD is being played again. Rather, to cover up some nefarious plot or indiscretion. From the sound of it, it appears that the Commissioner is involved. Not one a rookie detective should be butting heads with so early in her career. Not without resources and favors backing her up to combat any ‘disagreements’, which it appears she was heading straight into. All she had to do was follow orders and let nature take its course. It would not be that hard. Schilliens looks like a desperate man, ready to take fate in his own hands. Best not to push him right now.

“Ah’right, let’s say I’m not going to take you in,” Hopalong told him. Knowing better than to turn her back on a desperate man, she backed up to the table where the datapad lay. She would let him keep the rifle, let him believe he had the option to deal with this situation as he thought best. If it came to it, she could drop him before he got the rifle up and pointed at her. If it came to a quick draw, experience was also on her side.

“You wanna tell me what this is about, honey, or do I gotta look?” Misery loves company, but in this wretched city, with two NCPD officers turning up dead, no one would bat an eye. Some might even rejoice in their demise—two fewer deterrents to the rampant lawlessness that ruled the city. Hopalong was not about that life; she believed in the work, though she had to fight for every inch to something close to victory. She hoped this would not end in a draw, or worse, a final mark in the loss category.

If Schilliens is reluctant to spill the basic deets on the evidence, she will take a quick look to see what's so hot that the Commissioner wanted it buried along with the investigating officer. A plan was forming in her mind, but she needed to make sure the information was worth involving Ghostwire. Hopefully, whatever the Commissioner was up to was not too hot to handle.

Password Gate -> Control Node -> ICE on third floor... How to distract ICE on third floor? Nevermind that. One step at a time.

The first thing Nym attempts to do is to CLOAK: [Net Action 1] 1d10+6: [10]+6 = 16 (+2 from ERASER program and +4 from interface.) 1d10: [1] = 1 (Exploding Roll) (17 total)

The second thing Nym attempts to is breach the password gate. [Net Action 1] 1d10+4: [5]+4 = 9 + 1d10: [9] = 9 (Luck) (7 Luck rolls left today) (18 total)

If Nym does not breach the password gate the first time, they will attempt to do so again. (Please use JIC rolls)

If the password gate breach succeeds, Nym moves to the second floor and attempts to control node. 1d10+4: [5]+4 = 9 . They will burn another luck roll 1d10: [5] = 5 (6 Luck rolls left today) (Total 14). Nym will survey what the control node has per facilities so they can make a ruckus and act as a decoy, hopefully distracting the Black Ice away from Level 3 to Level 2.

The Tyger waits silently with a steady gaze on Ty as he finishes up, this was a higher echelon of Tyger. Ty knew all he had to do was cooperate and these Tygers would move on. Ty finishes expertly enough and sets the item down, answering the Tyger's question. When Ty points out the computer, the Tyger steps closer and takes the computer without a word, opening it and powering it on right at the desk. Ty's financial troubles apparently meaningless in this instance. Ty can only sit in silence while the Tyger goes through the computer, a frown on his face as he looks at Ty. "Podemos pagarte generosamente por cualquier información valiosa que encuentres en la computadora y por tu silencio. Diez veces más de lo prometido."
We can pay you generously for any valuable information on the computer you found and your silence. Ten Times what you were promised.
The Tyger asks shutting the computer down and securing it.

Taurus warns in a hushed whisper over the connected call.

Takeout Tuesday
Tobias

Tobias notes the safe is not secured and is simply sitting underneath the desk and held down by a simple chain. Tobias is able to break it free and set it on the desk, opening it will be another matter. Leaving it on the desk for the moment, Tobias returns to the sealed bathroom door and posts up to pry it open. Using his bare hands, Tobias is able to forcibly snap the locking mechanism holding the door in place and slide the bathroom door open. Inside is a horrifying sight, several naked bodies laid in the corner of the room; long dead. And two others sitting inside a bathtub full of ice. One of them is dead, however Tobias discovers that one of them is alive.

It's an unconscious, naked and completely stripped woman. Even her hair has been completely shaved, though it seems her cyberware was still intact. A recent victim, perhaps? She is completely unresponsive to Tobias and when removed from the ice water, she begins choking on air as is convulsing. Tobias can tell if she doesn't get help soon, she will die. He can't carry both her and the safe out of the building.

What are your intentions?

Tuesday Twists
Cossack

Ghost smirks at Cossack's comment and nods. "Excellent. Yes, let's see the delivery." She says as Cossack grabs the package. The other woman moves to grab the package and takes it without a word, moving to the other side of Ghost and popping open the suitcase. Ghost maintains a steady smile towards Cossack as the other woman does this. Moments later, the other woman speaks. "It's here." The woman says to Ghost under her breath, who nods in approval while her eyes light up as Cossack sees a [+500eb] transfer flash across his notifications as he retrieves the package.

"I'll have another job for you in an hour or so if you want it. Transportation, not smuggling this time. Pays another 500. If you want it, you can use this garage until I call you to check out your car. Tools are over on the other side of the garage. Leave it a mess and I'll find a new driver." Ghost states, looking to Cossack for his answer. The other woman has sealed the package and is now waiting by the entrance for Ghost.

What are your intentions?

Tuesday Trojan
Nym

Nym swiftly activates their CLOAK ability then attempts to breach the password gate. Child's play; the Tyger's should've known better. Nym is deftly able to crack their security and breach the password gate undetected. Nym then makes their way to the control node to enable a Backdoor for 8ug8ear. The ICE appears to be asleep or inactive, the breach in the password gate undetected as of yet. When Nym arrives at the Control Node, they attempt to access it however their attempt fails. Suddenly the entire sector's hue changes from blue to red as the WARDEN is activated. Nym is able to evade the WARDEN as it closes in on the Control Node.

If Nym stays around the Control Node, they will see the WARDEN appears as a large exo-skeleton one might see deployed by NCPD, Arasaka or Militech, protecting checkpoints and providing heavy firepower for security. However, the WARDEN will detect Nym's presence and enter Search and Destroy Protocol.

If Nym retreats from the Control Node, the WARDEN can be tracked staying in the Control Node for what must feel like an eternity before it then makes its way towards the Password Breach Nym left. This gives Nym another chance at the Control Node before the WARDEN returns.

What are your intentions?

Tuesday Trouble
Hopalong

Schillens seems to visibly relax thanks to Hopalong's attitude as he nods, walking away from the assault rifle and towards the table with the datapad. He sits down and pulls up a Cup'o'Joe, taking a unsteady sip before answering. "Pictures of the Commish doing talks with Maelstrom at Totentaz. Evidence he's got deals with them that's cost NCPD lives. It's all there, but the Commish is too connected. Sic'd an entire district on me." Schillens says, his hands still shaking.

"N-no. I go back, I'll be dead by nightfall. You take it back, so will you. Best thing to do is let me escape and tell them this lead was bunk... And destroy the evidence." Schillens says, pausing and pushing the datapad with the evidence closer to Hopalong. "Unless you already called reinforcements" Schillens finishes, looking to Hopalong and waiting to see what happens next.

What are your intentions?

Tuesday Triage
Reaper

With the help of Ghostwire, Reaper operates out of a small storage garage that is on street level from the Kabuki Stacks. While Reaper doesn't have cyberware of his own to stock and sell yet, he has all the necessities to operate in tight environment. Ghost had been taking care of Reaper a little more than Reaper expects for a random fixer, though she claims it is because she likes investing in reliable individuals. What exactly her game is, Reaper can only guess but her aspirations are high. Whatever they may be, she helps keep his little storage unit Ripper service running until he can manage on his own. Right now, Reaper was doing the math on what it'd take to go independent. If he wanted to maintain both his Kabuki Stack and this storage unit on his own dime, it would cost nearly two thousand a month. Currently, Reaper nets a couple hundred after Stacks payment comes due.

Recently, Reaper had been having some trouble with a rival street ripper who didn't like the competition. A creep of a person who worked out of a local flophouse and supposedly worked with the scavs and Maelstrom, though that was never proven. Guy's name was Jacob Belial, but he went by JB to most and was cybered out himself. Reaper had seen folk like him, the ones that thread the line of cyberpsychosis and humanity. Those kinds of Rippers usually ended up being worse than the scavs they work with. Today, JB decided to try to hustle Reaper who had just finished a client.

"Yo, dead boy. Why don't you go set up shop a few blocks down, hurting my intake and I don't like that." He says with a hand on his hip. Reaper couldn't see whether JB was armed or not, though Reaper was.

Reaper is fiending for a cigarette, as he drops the scalpel into the sonic cleaner. Reaper is about to hit the button to start a wash cycle, when JB comes in.
JB wrote:"Yo, dead boy. Why don't you go set up shop a few blocks down, hurting my intake and I don't like that."
Reaper sighs, reaches for the pack of smokes on the tray next to him and pulls one out. "What was that JB? A social visit at this time of day... how pleasant." Reaper says as he lights the cigarette with the half empty lighter from the crumpled pack. "I think I have a bottle of whiskey somewhere around here if you'd like a drink." Reaper says, finally turning his tired face towards the trash ripper. Doesn't he know I'm bad luck, he's likely to end up flatlined for even being near me. Reaper thinks morosely.

"Not sure how I'd be hurting your intake, we don't take the same kind of clients even. So no, I don't think I can help you there... Maybe we can come to some sort of agreement." Reaper says. wonder if someone is pushing him to bother me... wouldn't be surprised if one of the gangs was backing him. Reaper thinks.

Reaper takes a long drag of his cigarette. "So what do you say?"

A cold, hard knot tightens in Tobias's gut as he takes in the horrifying scene. It's not just the sight of the dead, but the chilling sight of the cruelty at play. This isn't just about Eddies anymore; it's a reaction to the evil of it all. These people aren't even human.

When he sees one of the victims is alive he feels a surge of hope and instantly shifting his focus. There's a chance to pull a life back from the brink.

He pulls her from the icy water, and when her body begins convulsing he moves more urgently. She’s dying, miracle she isn't dead already, he thinks. She needs a doctor, fast. And she needs to get warm.

He glances at the safe. He'd love to crack it open, and he definitely could use the Eddies. But the thought is fleeting. Am I the kind of fella who leaves a victim to die of cold? Nah. Eddies come and go. Tobias doesn't know much about medicine, but he knows time is running out.

He pulls out his phone, dialing his Fixer. As it rings, he switches to hands-free, his fingers working furiously to dry the woman with whatever is available. Then, with a quiet sigh, he sheds his jacket—the one he was so touchy about the scav touching—and carefully wraps it around her shivering form. He scoops her into his arms, grabs his phone, and begins walking out of the building, talking as he moves.

"The Scavs won't be hurting anyone anymore," he says to the Fixer. "There's a small safe in the room I got no time to crack; maybe you can get someone on that. Right now, my arms are full of a victim. Found her in an ice bath. She's barely alive. I need to know, right now, where I can take her!"

For a moment, Schilliens would probably think he heard the woman's teeth grinding upon hearing the admission that their Commissioner was costing NCPD lives. The anger in her eyes could not be hidden. It was a pointless gesture because the other officer said ‘is too connected’ which has been the kiss of death to many of Hopalong’s cases in this damn city. It always ends up finding out that some two-bit punk knows a friend of a friend with a connection that can walk him out of any trouble he finds himself in, whether it be jaywalking or a double homicide. Now their commissioner was tossing his own officers' lives into the meat grinder using one of the more dangerous gangs in Night City.

Still, one problem at a time.

“I ain’t got no one coming, Schillens, relax. As far as they know, I’m still chasing down leads, but it won’t be too much longer before someone wises up and comes looking here, too.” Hopalong then put her hand on the evidence, taking it and the burden off the patrol officers' shoulders. He had enough to worry about surviving the rest of the day and tonight. “Damn, you really stepped in it too.”

“It’s not as hopeless as it looks,” Hopalong said. “Let me call a friend and see what I can do to get you out of this mess. Obviously, you won’t be working for the NCPD anymore, but maybe we can get you out of the city. Maybe…”

She didn’t want to give Schillens false hopes to rely on. If he were letting her make the call to Ghostwire, would there be something the Fixer could do to even the odds of this predicament?

Slipping the datapad into her pocket, and if Schillens lets her make the call. Hopalong will dial up her fixer.

“Can’t talk long,” Hopalong begins, “I got a bad situation. Someone needs to leave the city, and there’s information circulating that someone is going to take drastic measures against anyone possessing it. Can’t touch’em either. So what do ya say? Can ya help a girl out?”
