Conditions: Dark, Cold.

You snap awake, gasping, utterly disoriented. Darkness presses in from all sides, and you have no idea where you are, how you got here, or how long you've been here.

The chill, damp air carries the scent of a deep, subterranean place. Dust lies thick on the floor, and the wall behind is cold, unyielding stone. You're dressed in rough, dark brown trousers and a long-sleeved tunic made of a coarse, scratchy fabric. A simple woven belt is your only adornment. Your feet are bare, exposed to the cold and the dust.

Your head throbs. You reach up, fingers brushing... then recoil in shock. Your hair is gone. Shaved clean.

A piercing screech of metal echoes as the rusty iron door of your cell is thrown open, and light floods the darkness. A dark figure fills the doorway: a dragon-like silhouette.

No, not a dragon, but a man. A black-clad warrior wearing a helmet styled into a black dragon's head, complete with wicked horns. He's a mass of muscle, bare-chested with knotty biceps and a thick torso, contrasted with modern black army cargo pants and combat boots.

With a crazed roar, the 'dragon' charges. Gauntleted hands, each finger tipped with stylized, vicious claws, reach for you—

Let the games begin!

Perception: 2d6+4: [4, 5]+4 = 13 (7 TN)
JiC: 2d6: [6, 4] = 10 || 2d6: [6, 5] = 11

Conditions: Toughness [Standard Damage x.75, Fatigue Damage x.50]

Melee Weapons: 2d6+9: [6, 4]+9 = 19 (8 TN) [Does he spot anything that can be used as a weapon]

Korosu's eyes flutter open and he swiftly rolls to his feet as he reaches for his throbbing head. "Lucky shot." Korosu growls under his breathe as he takes stock of his new situation. He feels the unmistakable feeling of cool air on his head where he normally feels hair, and furrows his brow as he realizes he's been shaved bald. Figures. Another humiliation ploy. Korosu thinks sharply as he looks around the cell for anything sharp, metal or what not he might be able convert into a weapon.

Then his cell doors open and the man clad in black with some tacky dragon-samurai mask walks in. "Who the fuck are you?" Korosu practically spits, looking the man up and down as the gladiator charges him. Korosu waits, holding up his hands as he watches the man charge him. Korosu watches the man charge at him, wildly roaring and swinging those claws. Claws Korosu would soon try to make use of. All I need is a blade, then everybody dies.

When the dragon man reaches Korosu, Korosu will shift his weight in his feet and attempt to redirect the man's momentum to keep him going and crash into the wall. If he is successful, he quickly stomp kicks the man's skull. If his redirect fails, he attempts a throat strike instead.

Combat:
Initiative: 3d6-L: [3, 3, 1]-L = 6

Korosu Unarmed Damage: 1+(MOS/4)

Contested Melee Rolls (8 TN, Defensive, Martial Arts): 3d6-L: [1, 6, 6]-L = 12 [CRIT] + 9 = 21 + 1d6: [4] = 4 = 25 // 3d6-L: [4, 6, 5]-L = 11 + 9 = 20

2x Simple Actions, Unarmed Melee Strike (8 TN): 3d6-L: [6, 5, 3]-L = 11 + 9 = 20 // 3d6-L: [4, 5, 1]-L = 9 + 9 = 18

And so Korosu faces his own Dragon Warrior. He holds his ground, hands raised, eyes locked on the charging figure. The Dragon Warrior lunges, a roar tearing from his throat, but Korosu is faster. Much faster. A lightning-fast fist flashes out, connecting solidly. As the Dragon Warrior's clawed gauntlets swing in retaliation, Korosu shifts his weight, his feet dancing across the floor. He doesn't just evade; he redirects the warrior's momentum, sending him crashing towards the cell wall.

The Dragon Warrior stumbles, falls, and hits the stone floor hard. He rolls, a surprising agility, and rises to a crouch, muscles coiled. The man is clearly well trained, but Korosu is already on him. Another strike, precise and powerful, sends the Dragon Warrior staggering. He lashes out again with a clawed hand, but Korosu steps back, the wicked talons slashing harmlessly through empty air.

The two fighters eye each other, the Dragon Warrior breathing heavily, Korosu calm and focused. Then Korosu's opponent lunges once more!

On to Round 2!

Korosu keeps his eyes loose and on the Dragon Warrior's chest, his eyes scanning his entire opponent during the brief pause. Korosu's hands still ready as he tilts his head towards the Dragon Warrior. Come on... don't quit yet. Korosu thinks with an emotionless face, not wanting the man to try to surrender. There would be no surrender on this cold prison floor. There would only be blood, for his current captors and former employers trained him well. The Dragon Man lunges, and Korosu is prepared.

Moving to take advantage of the man's growing fatigue, Korosu moves in for a series of swift but powerful strikes. Each one he expels a quick, controlled breath as he uses watches for incoming attacks. The easiest way to avoid getting cut is to not be where the blade is going, Korosu knew that. All Korosu needed to do was crack a few more ribs, collapse an airway, break a nose and this Warrior would serve a much greater purpose. Facilitating Korosu's escape.

Both warriors sense the end is near, and the Dragon Warrior is losing. He is strong, stronger than Korosu, but less skilled.

Yet, with a finality known only to the doomed, the Dragon Warrior surges forward, fueled by a burst of adrenaline.

Korosu moves with greater speed and strikes first, landing a powerful blow. But the Dragon Warrior also strikes, his claws catching Korosu's left arm. A sharp, searing pain flares through Korosu's arm, and he grits his teeth against the sudden and unexpected sensation.

Korosu follows with a second strike, hearing ribs crack and his opponent grunt in pain. A moment of satisfaction quickly fades as the Dragon Warrior retaliates with an open palm strike to Korosu's solar plexus, causing him to grunt in pain as well. The force of the blow doubles him over, and he gasps for air, his vision swimming.

They eye each other for a moment, then both move sluggishly, each feeling the toll of the battle. Again, Korosu is faster, but only barely.

His kick is swift and fluid, but the Dragon Warrior, perhaps driven by a flicker of hope, blocks it. In return, he slashes a dragon claw at Korosu's exposed leg, but Korosu snaps it back and twists behind him. In one swift move, the trained killer exploits the Dragon Warrior's helmet - its twin horns proving to be a fatal design flaw - to gain leverage and twist savagely, breaking the man's neck with a loud crack.

The Dragon Warrior drops to the floor. Korosu feels the wounds on his arm and chest, the pain a reminder that any fighter should never be underestimated. He checks himself quickly, and notes the bleeding is not excessive.

Perception: 2d6+4 (7 TN)
JiC: 2d6 || 2d6

Conditions: Toughness [Standard Damage x.75, Fatigue Damage x.50]

MedTech, General (7 TN): 2d6+2: [4, 4]+2 = 10 [Perform quick first aid on himself if needed]
Melee Weapons (8 TN): 2d6+9: [4, 3]+9 = 16 [Safely remove and resecure the weapons on himself]
Escape Artist (9 TN): 2d6+5: [5, 1]+5 = 11 [He's been inside a prison before; can he I.D. the most likely exit path]
Stealth (8 TN): 2d6+7: [5, 5]+7 = 17 [Move unheard, remain unseen]

Korosu watches the body slump to the ground and kicks his shoulder, rolling him onto his back as Korosu kneels next to the Dragon Warrior. Korosu quickly unfashions the gauntlet from the Dragon Warrior, leaving it off to the side while he checks his own wounds. Korosu also checks the pants and shoes of the Dragon Warrior to see if they'd fit him. If they do, he will change into them as fast as he can. Korosu keeps his eye on the door as he quickly sorts through what he has to work with. His breathing is swift and quiet while his eyes dart between the door and his task. Seven minutes. That's the rule in the Death Commandos. After an engagement, clear the zone in under seven minutes to avoid enemy reinforcements. Quick tie on the open wound, secure the weapons and make my way out of here.

If Korosu gets enough time to secure the Dragon Warrior's weapons, pants and shoes; except the helmet, and check his wounds, he will stand. "Looks dumb, trying to overcompensate." Korosu mutters, looking down at the helmet, kicking the helmet a few feet away as he readies himself to disappear. With the armaments of the Dragon Warrior, Korosu now has a blade at his disposal and things would get far more costly. Won't have any witnesses if you leave no survivors. Korosu thinks darkly as he peers into the hallway and prepares to exit his room.

Korosu has been to a prison before, he's fought the law and for it. Though removed, Korosu looks for any signs or features that might indicate an exit. He focuses on remaining as quiet as possible, with the newly acquired weapons at the ready.

Korosu moves with lethal efficiency. Discarding the gauntlet, he quickly assesses his own wounds while simultaneously checking the Dragon Warrior's gear. The pants and boots are a good fit, and he changes into them swiftly, adhering to the Death Commando creed – speed and efficiency above all else.

He then secures Dragon Warrior's gauntlet, adding it to his arsenal. They look more lethal than mere fists, being made from metal plates with the fingers sharpened. They would provide protection for his hand, but at the expense of that hand's dexterity; the right. Korosu thinks it would be harder to throw a blade accurately while wearing these, but the designers likely figured the wearer would not want them.

He examines the helmet, and decides against it. When he removes it, Korosu sees the face of the Dragon Warrior. His face was a sub-human canvas of scar tissue, perhaps due to the ravages of radiation or cruel hand of birth defects? His teeth are yellowed and broken, with several gaps in the front. One eye is a milky, unnatural yellow, while the other is a disturbingly vibrant violet. A dismissive kick sends the helmet skittering across the floor. Now the Korosu the Killer is armed, dangerous, and ready to move.

As he moves toward the exit, his training kicks in. He's been in prisons before, and he knows how to read a space. He peers through the door, expecting a corridor, and he moves as silently as possible, his deadly clawed hands at the ready.

Then, he hears it. The sound is unmistakable: a massive crowd, roaring its approval. The cheering is thunderous, visceral, and utterly enthusiastic. It's a wave of sound that washes over him, confirming that whatever this place is, it's far from what he expected.

[to be continued in the main thread to come]
