Serrano pulls up to the others with his bike. ”Got it. Where to?”

Once Serrano is in place, John pushes the robot truck to the Dragon's Head Brewery, still in the docks.
Serrano, still on the bike, takes off the helmet and looks at John in confusion for a moment. ’Is he asking me to do something involving mischief? That could be fun.” With a sly look, serrano says ”Sounds right to me.” Hanging his helmet on the bike handlebars, Serrano moves the bike off to the side. Grabbing his helmet as he gets off the bike, he heads to the truck.

As he climbs up, ”john, were you told that YOU can't turn it on or no one can? Because I can drive this. Just to concentrate for a moment, then we can drive over.” Serrano enters the drivers sdie and takes his seat. He spends a couple seconds looking over the controls and adjusting his seat. When he is ready, Serrano sticks his hand out the window and gives a thumbs up.

Contingency: If john agrees, then serrano will activate telemechanics, which gives 88% pilot truck

Bailey’s:
The transaction is completed as Nash and Jack begin to hook up the trailer to the Romper and there is an off scrapping sound that is probably not a standard sound heard when completing such an action. Jack stops them to adjust cables, ignoring the dings and scratches they can currently do nothing about and try again, very well succeeding in the connections on the second attempt.

The Compound:
Jason, who had been doing more cleaning of a construction project than worry about his own upkeep begins to show the discomfort of such choices, the smell of evacuated organs beginning to breathe from the boy. Vennifer and Wolf don’t seem to come to a full decision of whether or not to bring him along for the ride.

Detour for alcohol:
John and Serrano make a plan to drink as they do their guard duty. A very simple plan is discussed and even gets underway when the excited Serrano gets the wise idea to highjack the mechanics of the vehicle they need to move. In his excitement to the acceptance into the team, Serrano either delves too deep or mistakes some mechanism for what he was hoping he was seizing and the vehicle’s brakes seize tightly, making moving the truck for an instant improbable to simply move and like a mister greyish smoke seeps from beneath the hood. No damage is done to the vehicle, but both John and Serrano get to feel the strength of a truck that had for a split second decided it was absolutely not moving.

Ven looks over to Serrano with an amused smirk and looks to Wolf. "Seems John has uses for Serrano, we needn't babysit him then. We can leave Jason as well. Let's go meet this contact of yours, Wolf." Ven says with almost a predatory smirk. She will follow Wolf towards wherever the meeting place is, unconcerned with the finer details. These grounders are most amusing, so far I quite enjoy this team even if Ash didn't. I do hope that little one is doing well, but I shaln't concern myself with every wayward mortal I meet. I have much larger plans in mind. Ven considers with a sly grin to herself before looking to Wolf.

"So, what can you tell me about this... contact of yours?" Ven asks with a subtle smirk.

When the pair arrive at the meeting place to meet the female defender Wolf mentioned, Ven will approach the Defender with her arms crossed and study the woman. "It seems you have quite capable friends, Wolf. A pleasure to meet you, you may call me Ven." Ven introduces herself to the Defender contact.

”My grandma loads faster than that! Let’s move it, ‘Necks!” Will gently encourages his teammates to expedite their current task in order to move on to bigger and better things. Once they’re saddled up, he’ll instruct Dave to drive them home post haste.

Back at the HQ, Will’s jaw drops when he see the truck holding the giant robot has smoke pouring out of it. ”What did you do? How did you even break it?! Ugh.” Will hops out of the Romper Stomper, looks around and hands out some instructions. ”Dave, get this container dropped in the Compound. Serrano and Nash, get that truck fixed up. Pebbles, I need you to go look at all of the Allen Foods locations in MercTown and let me know which one has a gang hanging out in front of it. That’s where Baker is. And where the fuck are Wolf and Ven?!”

Ven is heading towards the meeting place with Wolf when suddenly her Merctown Cellphone starts ringing as she looks to Wolf while holding up a finger. "Ah, aren't I popular today." Ven says with a smirk as she answers the call and hears a perturbed William on the other line.

"Oh, dear William! Wolf and I were just on our way to meet with a contact of his to report the... unfortunate circumstances earlier. I'm sure you can handle yourself for a little while without me. Find that boy, Jason. I'm sure he'll be eager to help. We should be back soon. Toodles!" Ven says over the phone before shutting it and slipping it back in her bag with a shrug towards Wolf. "We forgot to tell William where we were headed." Ven adds.

Serrano jumps back in the seat as he raises his hands quickly. ”What the??” He looks outthe window sheepishly. Hanging his head, he says ”My bad.” After a moment, serrano grips the wheel and exhales a long breathe. ”Smarten up. I need to get my head in the game.” with a quick scan, he finds that there is no real damage. With a sigh of relief, He states. ”I can find no damage with my abilities *taps his temple * so i think we can try again. This time only hands on wheel. No funny business.” He faces forward and waits to see what is next.

John is surprised by the return of Will as he "leans" against the back of the truck, but quickly adjusts as the smoke distracts from anything else that may have been going on.

"Oh no, Shiny, what did you do to the truck?!? You know we weren't supposed to move it!"

When Will gives his command about Allen Foods, John casually salutes. "Baker's going grocery shopping? Okay. I'll check it out."

He thinks for a few seconds and pulls up all Allen Foods locations on his computer. "Uh, do we have any other information on this in terms of which neighborhood? No? Okay."

How fast does a juicer run? 50 mph? Don't want to give too much away...

"Hey, nerds, how fast can a juicer or borg run? Like, cruising speed. Wait, what does this guy look like?!?"

Nash jumps up into the gunner seat once more to give him a better look at the city as they pass. So much easier if I could do this from the air.

Assuming it is ok, and more informing than asking permission, Nash makes his way to his room, locks the door and sits on the floor. He takes the item out and initially does a mundane assessment before focusing deeper.

Leaving Bailey’s and to The Compound:
William’s encouragement to hurry up and load the cargo yields the desired result and they can shortly thereafter get onto bigger and better things. All but two go with the main mass of the Roughnecks, another location requiring their attention first. Those that do return to the Compound with the materials do with no issue and the unloading the Romper goes as close to flawlessly as it could.

Dave and Jason seem keen on unloading the construction material to get started on the jacuzzi. Jason, seeming scrawnier than he may look, or just that fixated on fulling he end of the bargain is a little on the clumsy side in his rushing.

The rest of the group is more than ready to get back on the road to head north and are doing what the deem necessary to finish their preparations if they haven't decided to pitch in on Baker's personal project. The sooner they're on the road seems to be the main plan though.

Nash is met with the image of a Doctor Almond over a muscular patient strapped to a metal table, then one of pale figure with bulging muscle and fanged canines. This Doctor definitely is not a person and ill intent with his project.


Embassy Gourmet:
Wolf and Venenifer make it to the location of the contact with minimal issue and don’t take long to locate the individual in question. The Embassy Gourmet is about as classy as such a location could be expected to be. There were few individuals around to pick the Defender they were looking for out of, but is thankfully not too hard a task.

“Lieutenant O’Mally” She nods before asking. “What did you need to discuss?”

Detour or alcohol:
When William had interrupted John thought his thoughts for getting a drink or three in seemed dashed, but he was able to salvage it almost as quickly as the hopes and dreams seemed dashed. With the knowing of the where the Roughnecks expect him and Serrano are expected to be if to be they were needed, they choose the one near a bar and set their sights on there. If the duo had the group's only vehicle they knew there was probably some form of timer on them to get whatever it is they were out for and find the Allen's Store that had a gang hanging around in its parking lot.

Ven walks with Wolf to the target, making idle conversation about what to expect. "You must tell me how you met this Defender. The only law enforcement I knew were the Overlords of Atlantis. I imagine these are different, no?" Ven asks as Wolf maintains his characteristically quiet persona. Ven rolls her eyes with a smirk. "You know, that whole silent killer trope is sooooo overdone" Ven says playfully as they arrive in the location Wolf had mentioned. Ven starts scouting out for the Defender, activating her Enhanced Perception [10 ISP] and smirks when O'Mally is found.
“Lieutenant O’Mally” “What did you need to discuss?”
Ven approaches the woman, likely towering over the defender as Ven gazes with an intrigued look; not unlike a cat watching and waiting to pounce. "My, my. My dear friend Wolf never told me how intriguing a woman in uniform such as yourself looks. Come this way. " Ven coos towards O'Mally, making sure no one is within earshot of them. "You can call me Ven. We have a... security issue and believe several defenders may be compromised. You see, our merry rabble was ambushed not once, not twice, but three times collectively by these... Horsemen of Mephisto. Am I saying that right? " Ven asks, looking to Wolf, then dismissing an answer. "A little birdie also told us that their aims may be greater than a few corrupt defenders." Ven says, her voice low and smooth as she watches the Defender's reaction.

John firstly strikes out at the Docks. It takes the ‘Blue Flash’ a while to find the right Allen Foods location. It’s in the Warrens within a block of the Ogre’s Den. John’s pretty sure the crowd of guys from last night hanging around makes it the right place. They are mean-mugging a bald girl in mirrorshades and not much else sitting on a bike in a line of bikes.



O’Mally face has a tell when Ven mentions a leak. Mostly anger at accusations, but a lack of surprise is also evident on her face. When the dragon lady mentions Mephisto’s Horsemen, she visibly grits her teeth. ”Yes. I can confirm the Defenders are a sometimes leaky ship. We hire mercenaries who don’t want to be on the road anymore, primarily. So that comes with the people who only care about a payday. And most field mercs, if it isn’t directly against their employers' wishes the side hussle is a social norm.”

She clears her throat. ”Let's sit down and eat, and pick a corner booth away from listening ears.”

Only after ordering and waiting for the server to get out of earshot will O’Mally continue. ”Your problem with the Horsemen isn’t in the Defenders, however. It’s in the Proconsul’s office. And I was specifically ordered not to dig into it.”

Wolf has been distracted using his drones to track a hovercycle that seemed to be following them for a minute, but his paranoia bears no fruit this time- it was a coincidental Ostrasaurus Express driver doing last mile delivery cause nobody wants the alien dino birds in town.*



William encounters a faintly smoking 16 wheeler engine and an anthropomorphic rodent when he, Jack and Nash make it back to the compound.

After Nash’s meditation over the object, Jack states his desire to get to paying work. William manages to track down his distinctly draconic cat, but now he’s lost the size-changing blue cat.

*Feel free to elucidate on the details of this yourself. This portion was to explain away inactivity.

Ven looks upon O'Malley as the Defender explains the problem in a hushed voice with the eyes of amusement. My, my. I might like this one. Ven considers as she follows O'Malley, activating her superior telepathy to first send a message to Wolf. "Wolf, go look intimidating over there and keep watch for a moment." Ven tells her ally as she sits down with the Defender and orders a single glass of wine.

Ven finishes, leaning back in her chair and sipping her wine with her eyes locked on the Defender. Ven keeps her telepathy active and is mostly listening for surface thoughts of anyone who may be paying too close attention, though if Ven gets a hint of deception from O'Malley, the dragon is ready to dig a little deeper.

I know better than to mess with the bosses revenue streams, which is why I asked before digging deeper and was clearly told no. I can tell you its someone further away than Silvereno or Free Quebec. The office is the same one who conducts business with the Germans and the South Americans and the other dimensions. The 'Office of Remote Places'."

She isn't lying, and it doesn't seem anyone is spying on her or the Roughnecks, despite Wolf's paranoia about anyone on a hoverbike.

Ven's lips coil into a smile at the openness and honesty the dragon reads from the Defender as she gives information, nodding slowly while taking a sip of her wine. "Well, for someone who didn't do digging, that is quite the breadcrumb trail I'm sure we could follow. Maybe you help us from within the Defenders." Ven says, leaning in. "Just information. Nothing that'd compromise any of your people. We could even make it a lunch date." Ven adds with narrowed eyes and a tight smile. This one is quite resourceful, having her on the inside would be an invaluable asset while we are within Merctown. Ven considers.

Serrano blinks rapidly for a moment. Realizing that he zoned out, he gives his head a quick shake. ”What is up? I need to get my head in the game.” He turns the truck off and jumps down.
Seeing everyone running around busy, he moves off to the side and just sits on his bike.
Whenever someone walks close, Serrano pus hismhand up o get their attention. If and when someone stops to ask, Serrano looks at them with apologetic eyes, and says ”I know I am the FNG but what can I do to help? Everyone looks like they know where to be. I want to help. Please.”
